Drop WebP or JPG files

Soft limit: about 50 files per round (very large batches can slow the tab). Drop again for the rest — processing is not uploaded to our servers.
Why is everything a WebP now?
Chrome and most websites serve WebP because it loads faster. When you right-click and save an image, the browser keeps that WebP wrapper — and then Paint, an older Office build, a school portal, or a marketplace uploader refuses it. You did nothing wrong; the default format changed under you.
When JPG is the right choice
Uploading a profile photo, emailing a picture, printing, or editing in older software — JPG is the format that just works everywhere. Convert here and the file opens without complaint. Need transparency preserved instead? Use WebP → PNG.

Frequently asked questions
Why won’t my WebP file open?
Many older apps, editors, and upload forms only accept JPG or PNG. Chrome saves images as WebP by default, so those files get rejected. Converting to JPG makes them open everywhere.
Does WebP to JPG lose quality?
JPG re-compresses the image, so there is a small quality change, but at the default 92% quality it is hard to see. JPG is the most universally compatible photo format.
What happens to transparency?
JPG has no transparency, so any transparent areas are flattened onto a white background. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG instead.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Decoding and re-encoding happen in your browser with the Canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I convert several WebP files at once?
Yes — drop a batch and download a ZIP. Very large drops process about 50 at a time; drop again for more.
