Why WebP instead of JPG?
WebP was built for the web. For the same photo at the same visible quality, a WebP file is usually a quarter to a third smaller than the equivalent JPG. Multiply that across every image on a page and you get faster loads, better Core Web Vitals, and lower hosting bandwidth — which is why most sites now serve WebP.
When should I keep JPG?

At the default quality (about 92%) the difference is hard to see, while the file gets noticeably smaller. WebP’s compression is more efficient than JPG, so you keep quality at a lower size.
Can I convert WebP back to JPG here?
