Compress PDF

Shrink scanned PDFs to a KB target in your browser — not uploaded to our servers for processing.

Tool processing runs in your browser — your files/inputs are not uploaded to our servers for processing.Details

Offline note: After assets load, many browsers (Chrome/Edge/Firefox) can keep the tool usable offline. Some browsers (e.g. Tor) or private modes block service workers — the tool still runs online without uploading your files to our servers for processing.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress a PDF to 100KB or 500KB?

Choose Scan mode for scanned/photo PDFs, set the KB target, drop your file, and download. The tool rasterizes pages and rebuilds a smaller PDF — all on your device.

What is Keep text mode?

Keep text re-saves the PDF with pdf-lib object streams. It helps some exports but does not rasterize. For camera-scanned documents, use Scan mode.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. pdf.js and pdf-lib run in your browser. After the page loads you can go offline and still compress.
